Go ahead, sue me!

Apparently it is a felony to disparrage the meat industry of Colorado. Therefore, Colorado meat sucks and I am going to boycott it. You heard me: Colorado meat is awful.

James Thomas must be disbarred, or made to eat Colorado's disgusting meat, which I'm sure is infected with E. coli and made with a heaping serving of cow manure.

Why I hate Poland

Change: Past Present and Future. And also a review of the election.

(For whatever reason, this is a very meandering post.  I always return to the topic at hand but.......... tangents abound.  You've been warned) In 2008, America elected a fellow named Barack Hussein Obama by a pretty large margin in the electoral college (365 VS 173).  According to the popular vote, the vote was 52% against 45%.  (This is because the electoral college lumps the votes of delegates from states together.  That is, if 4 million vote for one candidate and 3 million vote for another, all the electoral votes go for the candidate with 4 million votes.  If the winning candidate gets 6 million votes, s/he still gets all the electoral votes.  It's a reasonable argument to say the system has some quirks, especially because the electoral college always overrules the popular vote.  There have been 3 presidents elected while losing the popular vote: President Rutherford Hayes in 1876, President Benjamin Harris in 1888, and President George W. ...

"The Good Old Days"

The Good Old Days, plainly, never existed.  If ever anyone says that things were better, think about the time they're talking about.  You'll probably find out something that wasn't so good. For example: at a study group I was in, someone referred to the 1930s as the Good Old Days.  I immediately exclaimed, "But black people couldn't go into some restaurants!"  He said he went to an desegregated school.  There are two problems with that comeback: That it was called "desegregated" means it had been segregated at some point, and some point recently. The second problem, and in fact the general problem with the "Good Old Days."  It's based on personal experience, and colored by nostalgia.  Integrated grade schools were not widespread, and there was much violence against attempts at desegregation.  So his own experience is a little irrelevant to the point.
